Asus is set to launch a new larger screen Eee computer system in the UK featuring an 11.6-inch screen to combat the Acer 11.6-inch machine being launched soon. According to Asus' CEO, the company expects 11.6-inch netbooks to grab 30% of the market in 2009.

Combine that with the 50% of the market 10-inch machines are expected to grab and there isn’t much market left for the smaller screen riffraff. Asus also plans to release a larger screen thin notebook.
The machine is called the XS15 and uses a 15.6-inch screen, sounds like the MSI X-Slim offerings to me. The starting price for the XS15 is reportedly around £730 and due to hit stores in July.
