Star Trek fans are probably chomping at the bit to see the movie that opens at midnight tonight in many markets. Hard core fans may be looking to build up their geek memorabilia kit in honor of the new films and we have found the VOIP handset for the true fan of the original series.

The Star Trek USB Communicator Internet Phone is a replica of the communicator used by the crew of the Enterprise in the original show. The device has a built-in microphone and earphone for talking online.

The communicator is compatible with major VOIP chat services like Skype, MSN, AIM, iChat and more. Along with the integrated speaker and mic is also a speaker with 21 sound effects from the show. The USB cable for attaching the device to the PC is 6-feet long and it's compatible with Windows XP and Vista as well as Mac OSX 10.5. The gadget is available now for $44.
