Subsidized netbooks are about to arrive in the United States. We already reported about AT&T offering 3G netbooks in selected markets. BoyGeniusReport has a rumor up that Verizon will offer the HP Mini 1151NR starting May 17th.
Apparently Verizon is charging $199 with a 2-year contract for the data service for the HP Mini 1151NR. It is funny how U.S. carriers still get away with charging $99 or $199, where in Europe you get these 1 Euro deals on the iPhone and on netbooks of course as well.
T-Mobile offers the Acer Aspire One for 1 Euro and the data service sells for 39.95 Euro/month, which is roughly comparable what Verizon will charge you for data service on their netbook offering.
