New Samsung N110 Netbook compared with Asus Eee 1000HE

We already looked at the new Samsung N120 Netbook and how it compares to the current bestselling netbook on Amazon, the Asus Eee PC 1000HE a couple days ago. Today we take a look at the Samsung N110 , which Samsung also announced in April.
The Samsung N110 is an improved version of the Samsung NC10 launched by Samsung in October 2008. This netbook comes with a large touch pad and an attention catching battery life of up to 9.5 hours.
Description
The Samsung N110 is powered by the new Intel Atom N270 processor running at a speed of a 1.6-GHz. This netbook is characterized by a predictable Windows XP Home, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a six-cell battery with a runtime of up to 9.5 hours. The N110 measures 10.3 x 7.3 x 1.2 inches and has a weight of 2.8 pounds.
Samsung has given raised keys for its keyboard, which is a 93 percent scaled down version from the full-size layout. The keyboard is large and spacious and very comfortable to handle. Samsung has also given a large touchpad with dimensions of 2.5 x 1.3 inches, which makes the touchpad on par with touch pads of most other competitor netbooks. The Samsung N110 also features 3 USB ports, a VGA port, a 3-in-1 memory card reader, mic and headphone jacks, an Ethernet jack and slot for a USB modem.

Comparison
Samsung has tried its best to dish out a stylish and highly functional netbook through its Samsung N110. We compare it with the Asus Eee 1000HE , the netbook that has attracted the highest sales on Amazon to see if there are reasons to chose the Samsung N110 over the Asus Eee 1000HE.

Both the Samsung N110 and the Asus Eee 1000HE feature a 10-inch LED screen, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and a 1.3MP camera. The N110 has a slightly bigger keyboard at a 93% scaled down version from the full-size layout compared to a 92 percent scaled down version of the 1000HE.

The 1000HE has a slightly bigger touchpad in comparison with the N110 whose touchpad measurements are 2.5 x 1.3 inches. The measurements of the N110, which are 10.3 x 7.3 x 1.2 inches makes it less thick on most parts than the Eee PC 1000HE whose measurements are 10.47 (W) x 7.53 (D) x 1.12-1.50 (H) inches.

The Samsung N110 is also lighter than the Asus Eee 1000HE with their weights being 2.8 pounds and 3.2 pounds respectively. The N110 is however costlier than the 1000HE with a price of $449.00 compared to the $387.98 of the 1000HE.

Verdict
The comparison between the Samsung N110 and the Asus Eee 1000HE shows that the N110 is ahead of the 1000HE in all aspects with the exception of the price and the touchpad. However, the touchpad of the N110 is big enough, but its price difference with the 1000HE is a noticeable $60. But, if you are ready to disregard the price a bit, the Samsung N110 should be the better choice than the Asus Eee 1000HE.

Where to Buy
The Samsung N110 currently sells for around $450 on Amazon.com . Compare Prices in other Stores .

The Asus Eee PC 1000HE sells for around $390 on Amazon.com . Compare Prices in other Stores .
