Palm Pre to be Big says Sprint

There is supposed to be a big announcement from Sprint and Palm today regarding the Palm Pre in the Wall Street Journal newspaper.
It is expected that Sprint and Palm will finally announce a launch date and pricing for the Palm Pre. All rumors, including yesterday's, point to the first week of June as a launch date for Palm Pre.
Meanwhile the NY Times runs a story that contains a quote from Kevin Packingham, senior vice president for product and technology development at Sprint. He said about the Pre: "It’s the highest confidence I’ve ever had going into a device launch that this is going to be a blockbuster. I’m pretty sure we’ll know within the first week."

I would agree that we will know after the first week if the Palm Pre is going to be big. I like the Palm Pre and it is really a very promising new smartphone, unless of course Apple unveils at the WWDC 2009 a cool iPhone Pro.
