Nexus Technology has announced a new laptop cooler that is a velvet blanket that is filled with a gel liquid. The liquid has heat-dissipating properties and is a passive and noiseless solution. The cooling pad can be folded and taken with you on a plane or in a car.
According to the manufacturer, a notebook on a regular surface reached a temperature of 50C after 40 minutes of being on. The same machine on their cooling pad reached only 36C in the same time span. The pad needs to be picked up and shaken every 20 minutes for best performance. The pad is set to launch in June starting at $23.
