A new Android-powered smartphone called the Lancaster is set to launch on AT&T in the US. If O2 locked up the Pre in anticipation of the iPhone going off exclusivity, perhaps the Lancaster is the best AT&T could do.
The Pre is already locked up by Sprint in the US leaving AT&T without much choice if the iPhone goes to other carriers as well.
The handset is a slider with full QWERTY keyboard and a 3MP camera. Connectivity includes HSDPA and Bluetooth. The device also has a social networking interface. The handset is reported to be AT&T's exclusively for 6 months starting in early August.
