Once again, AT&T has announced two new phones that will soon join the megacarrier's ranks. The LG HQ and the Opera TV will both be available from AT&T at some point this Summer. This has been an ambitious couple of days from AT&T, and I'm not sure when we'll see this train of new releases slow down.
Both of these new phones fill a valuable niche for AT&T. The HQ is a simple, low-end messaging phone that runs on Window's Mobile 6.1, has a 2 megapixel camera, microSDHC support, and a non-touch display. It's not a particularly buff little phone, but it should be very inexpensive and imminently available.
While the HQ is a basic messaging phone, the Opera TV is a smartphone through and through. It's got a 3 inch WVGA display/MediaFLO-enabled touchscreen, LG's S-Class user interface, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and a 5 megapixel camera. If you're not a sliding keyboard fan, the Opera TV looks like a pretty snazzy piece of phone. Now if only they could do something about the ridiculous name...
