Dell announced its latest notebook yesterday called the Dell Studio 14z. The notebook is available in six different colors including Black Chain Link, Midnight Blue, Spring Green, Plum Purple, Ruby Red, and Promise Pink. The pink notebook is only available in the US.

The notebook can be equipped with up to 500G B of storage and offers optional FailSafe technology to allow the user to lock the laptop down and delete data if it's lost or stolen. The machine has a 14-inch LED backlit LCD supporting 720p and 900p HD resolutions.

The machine can be had with Pentium dual-core and Core 2 Duo processors and graphics are via the NVIDIA 9400M GPU. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile broadband are integrates and the machine has a 1.3MP webcam. The stock battery is a 6-cell unit and a larger 8-cell battery is available along with external Blu-ray and DVD drives. The machine is available now starting at $649.
