E-Ink is awesome, the Kindle DX is proof enough of that. But it's also monochromatic, and that's something that won't really fly on a laptop. In addition to having the coolest screen in the business, Pixel Qi claims that their new notebooks will be capable of holding an astounding 40 hour charge. The ability to switch between an E-Ink display for simple writing or text reading, and a color LCD screen for gaming, web browsing or media viewing is truly awesome. It's a great way to extend the battery capacity of a laptop, and I hope we see some netbooks come out with 3qi screens very soon. With any luck, we'll even see a touchscreen hybrid monitor it the market before too long.
