Snow Leopard launches in September
New iPhone 3GS unveiled
New MacBook Pros announced
Today 10am PCT Apple will hold their highly anticipated keynote at the WWDC 2009 in San Francisco. The two main topics at the WWDC 09 are the upcoming Snow Leopard OS X update and the new iPhone 3.0 firmware.
Apple announcements today in regards to Snow Leopard will most likely reveal how they are going to battle the Windows 7 launch on October 22nd. Snow Leopard is expected to also launch this fall.
Developers will get a new Snow Leopard release at the WWDC 2009, but Apple is not expected to launch the new OS X version yet.
The Palm Pre, thought of as the closest iPhone challenger in terms of feature set, launched on Saturday. Palm's decision to launch days before the WWDC 2009 and the last minute reveal of the Pre iTunes sync feature should be enough to trigger a response from Apple. A new iPhone aka iPhone 3GS aka iPhone Video aka iPhone Pro is what everybody is waiting for.
Most of the new features like the long awaited cut and paste and the notification services are coming in the new iPhone OS 3.0 release. In terms of software features the new iPhone is more or less up to par with Palm's webOS depending who you ask. The unknown is still what Apple is bringing in terms of new iPhone hardware. Of course there are tons of rumors, but they are just rumors not facts.
All eyes are on Apple today. It is now on Apple to make the next moves in the Desktop OS and smartphone battles. Update: List of 10 WWDC 2009 Live Blogs to follow Apple's WWDC keynote live, starts at 10am PCT.
