It looks like time has been called on UK prisoners having a soft time inside as prison bosses have decided to take away Sony PS3's from inmates.
Up to now inmates have been allowed to use and play with the PS3's but at RyeHill prison they have been confiscated because of the fear that they are being used to contact people on the outside to carrying on committing crime. The PS3 has the ability to connect to other people either via their laptop or mobile phones and this could be used for immoral purposes.A spokesman for the Prison Service said: "PlayStation 3 consoles are barred on the grounds that they have the capability to send and receive radio signals as an integral part of the equipment."
It's not the first time that a Sony console has caused problems for the prison service. Back in 2006 the Playstation 2 was banned as prisoners were watching porn on them.
