SMART Technologies has announced a new interactive pen display called the SMART Podium ID422w. The display has a 40% larger screen for more workspace than other SMART interactive display options and is the company's first widescreen pen display.

The display has a 16:9 aspect ratio and has a resolution compatible with laptop or desktop monitors. The stand of the display is adjustable for comfortable writing angles. Notes can be saved and emailed directly from the display.

The pen is battery free, is tethered to the screen to prevent loss, and can write on any application with digital ink. The color of the pen ink can be changed along with display properties and the pen can be used as a mouse. The screen will launch this fall for $3,559 with an education price of $2,839.
