Geodelic Powers Sherpa on the T-Mobile MyTouch

Geodelic is behind the slick Sherpa feature of the new myTouch 3G mobile phone for T-Mobile. The Sherpa application allows users of the phone to access locally relevant information right on their phone. Sherpa is a local discovery application that learns a user's favorite type of locations and other preferences over time. As it is used more, the information provided becomes more customized to the user's tastes and prioritizes content based on the tastes of the user.

Sherpa uses the GENIE learning engine to learn a user's favorite locations and lifestyle behaviors. For instance, a user who eats out more than they show will get content showing more restaurants and less retail stores.

Sherpa also provides a geobrowser for users to let them browse the real world searching the web and getting information on their phone. Also offered is information from sites like Yelp, MenuPages, City Search, and other specialized sources.
