Step back, iPhone 3GS, you're no longer the best-selling smartphone in the world right now. The Samsung Jet has already had more than two million pre-orders worldwide, and it won't even be released until later this month! With pre-orders and release-day sales, the 3GS managed to top a million. At the rate it's going, the Samsung Jet could very well find itself eclipsing 3 million by launch.
This news confirms the Jet as the most pre-ordered phone in Samsung history. So, why is the Jet so successful? It's got a great design, an 800 mHz CPU, and a 3.1” AMOLED touch screen to start with. Samsung's promises of faster speeds and unparalleled energy efficiency have proved very attractive to a lot of consumers.
Despite incredible pre-order success, we won't hear half as much about the Jet's record-breaking sales as we will about the iPhone 3GS's near record-breaking sales. Still, I doubt Samsung will mind. With or without media attention, the Jet is a gold mine. No amount of bragging from Apple is going to change that.
