The official top 40 record charts in the UK will soon feature music that is streamed online says the Official UK Charts Company. It's not surprising that the streaming data is being added with more and more consumers using streaming service for their music needs.

Popular streaming services in the UK include Spotify, We7, and Last.fm. The Official UK Charts Company said that it would include the streaming music in its charts, but not for another year at least.

The company says that adding the streaming music will make the charts increasingly more complicated and there is debate over if streaming tracks should have the same weight as tracks that people pay to purchase.
