Remember that hot little Asus EEE Keyboard we mentioned a month back as coming in June? Well, we've got some bad news. It's not hitting stores until the end of August.
The EEE Keyboard was originally set to hit stores around...well, now. However, Asus is apparently having some trouble figuring out just how to market their unique gadget. Unlike a netbook, the EEE Keyboard doesn't really sell itself. It's looks beautifully cyberpunk, and it's got some pretty solid hardware under the hood (32 GB SSD, 5” touchscreen, and the ability to stream HD content wirelessly to your TV) but it doesn't really fill a clear niche.
I've got no doubts that the EEE Keyboard will find an audience (I know I intend to get my grubby mits on one ASAP) but it could end up taking a while. The whole world isn't made up of tech geeks who will buy anything if it has a novel design and lets them bring their library of awful media wherever they go. The first person who designs some sort of harness system to let you type on this thing while you walk is going to make a lot of money.
