Sony Ericsson is getting set to launch its first Android-powered smartphone called the Rachael; a strange name for a phone. The device will be a touchscreen handset with a screen at least 4-inches and with a resolution of 800 x 480.

The device will also sport an 8MP camera along with 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone would also reportedly use the new mini USB charger standard.

The handset will also use the new Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset with CPU speeds up to 1GHz and offering 3D rendering capability. The handset will also likely feature microSD card support with the recent withdrawal of the Sony M2 format.
