Are you thinking of getting a netbook, but hesitant to drop very much money on one? If so, Geeks.com might have the perfect deal for you. They're selling a refurbished Asus Eee PC 900 for the ridiculously low price of $149.95. It's only got a 90 day warranty, but Asus makes some very rugged machines. If you're moderately gentle with your use, this thing will last you years.
This netbook isn't even close to top-of-the-line. It's got 512 MB of RAM, a 4GB SSD, an 8.9” screen and a 900 Mhz processor. That's just fine for word-processing and Internet browsing, which are the two primary uses of a netbook. With shipping this deal totals just $160, which is cheaper than most smartphones. For that kind of a price, I'd be willing to deal with the fact that it comes running Linux.
