Surge in Mobile Use Thanks to Facebook and Twitter

Social networking is booming with users flocking to MySpace and Twitter as a way to keep up with friends and business associates. A recent study has shown that as many as one third of youths in Europe are accessing social networking sites on their mobile phones.

The study was conducted by CCS Insight and surveyed over 1000 mobile users between 16 and 35. The users surveyed said social networking was driving the growth of mobile Internet.

One in five surveyed for the study claim that they log into their social networking sites many times per day. Facebook was the most popular of the sites with Twitter, Bebo, and MySpace together not getting as many visitors as Facebook.
