Nintendo is setting up an urban island getaway in the heart of New York City's times Square on Military Island to celebrate Wii Sports Resort. On July 23, the Manhattan landmark will be turned into an island getaway with a sandy beach, swimming pool, and tropical lounge.

Visitors will also get a change to play Wii Sports Resort before it launches on July 26. The island themes is based on the Wuhu Island location into the game. Nintendo points out that the lounge bar will only serve non-alcoholic drinks.

The event will start on Thursday July 23 at 9am and run until 3pm. The venue is at 7th Avenue and Broadway between 43rd and 44th streets in Manhattan. This sounds pretty cool.
