EA has announced that its free Battlefield Heroes download game has now attracted a million players and EA is looking for more. The game is free to download and play and EA makes money through advertising in the game and from players who purchase in game money to upgrade characters.

The game first went live in June and has proven popular with tens of thousands of new players joining daily. The game is base don’t the Battlefield sandbox multiple player game and has robust and deep character customization.

EA says that players can spend hours building up a character. The game has four maps and uses a third-person view so gamers can see the character they worked hard to create. The game also uses a matchmaker function to put players of equal ability into 16 person matches. The game is rated T for teen.
