Will Europe Get Windows 7 Family Pack?

In America Microsoft will offer a new Windows 7 Family Pack that allows the user to install the OS on up to three computers inside the same home. It's not clear yet if Microsoft will offer the same deal for consumers in Europe.

In the US, the part number for the family pack is GFC-00236 and is called the Windows 7 Family Pack/ Windows Home Premium Upgrade Bundle. The pack is priced at around $140 in America and is expected to be used as an upgrade to existing Windows installations.

The catch in Europe is that there can be no upgrade installations thanks to the recent ruling that Microsoft can’t bundle IE8 with its operating system meaning all installs have to be clean installs. Pre-orders for the new OS have been selling out already.
