BMW to leave Formula One Racing

The Formula One Racing will, according to German Bild, loose one of its most prominent teams today. BMW is supposed to announce today that they will leave the Formula One by the end of the season.

BMW just reentered Formula One in 2000. For BMW the Formula One is not green enough for their new overall marketing strategy.
The Formula 1 tries hard to become green. This year they introduced KERS and more rules are in discussions to build technology that is more energy efficient. In the past Formula 1 was a driver for car innovation, but now they have a bit of an identity crisis. If more marquee teams leave, Formula One might even die.
