All you Crackberry addicts on the Verizon network have a new toy coming your way. The BlackBerry 8530 has a CDMA version, and it's coming to VZW. We don't know when, and we don't know how much it will cost, but we do have a confirmed list of specs from reliable sources.
First off, the Verizon edition of this new Berry comes packing WiFi. All future Verizon BlackBerry smartphones are going to come with WiFi standard, and the 8530 is no exception. Other than that, it's got a 2 MP camera, OS 5.0, Bluetooth, the trademark BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard, 1xRTT EV-DO, and a 320x240 screen.
Things are looking good for Verizon customers over the next few months and into next year. A new line of Berries, the Palm Pre, Apple's new tablet and the iPhone should all be hitting VZW within the next year or so. They may be going through some rough waters now, but the huge spate of new options should help them rebound nicely in 2010.
