Microsoft has rebranded the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.50 OS to Windows Phone. The Inquirer got a full demonstration of the redesigned Windows Phone user interface at a recent Microsoft event.
The Windows Phone OS gets demoed on a HTC Touch Diamond 2 and actually looks quite nice. The speed of the Windows Phone OS also looks quite fast.
Microsoft is still playing a bit of catch up with the iPhone OS (e.g.: multi-touch is still missing). I like the new short name though: Windows Phone - says it all.
The Windows Phone OS is still scheduled for a fall release.
