Sony Adds eReaders to Line

The Register reports that Sony has added new eReaders to its line of devices. The lowest priced of the additions is a unit with a 5-inch screen selling for $200. A 6-inch version sells for $300. Neither of the readers offer the Kindle's wireless connectivity, but that feature could be coming to future Sony readers.

The resolution of the 5-inch reader is 800 x 600 and the resolution will be 200 dpi. The larger screen device is touch sensitive, which is a nice feature to have in a reader. The touchscreen includes a stylus as well.

Books for the system will be offered from $10 per title for new releases and 500,000 free books form Google will be offered as well. The $200 price point is nice, but the devices need more features to be successful I think.
