Since the dawn of Android, only one mobile carrier has been able to resist the siren song of that adorable little green robot. Up until now, AT&T has steadfastly ignored the Android operating system. But now, with the iPhone quickly slipping from their exclusive grasp, the mega-carrier has finally capitulated. According to CellPassion, there is an Android phone bound for ATT.
The mobile phone news blog managed to get their hands on the UA profile for an HTC smartphone, the T5252, otherwise known as the HTC Fiesta. We know virtually nothing about this phone, other than that it will be an Android smartphone with a screen capable of 240x320 resolution and voice input.
If you'd like, you can check out the UA profile here. Buried deep within it are three little letters, ATT, which means that the Fiesta is likely to be the first AT&T Android smartphone. This is great news for the growth of Android, and for anyone who uses Ma Bell as a carrier. We'll bring you more details about this new phone as they leak out.
