The company has decided that it has been out of the HD market for movie players for too long and last month we first got wind that the firm was looking to enter the Blu-ray market. Toshiba has now announced that it has applied to join the Blu-ray Disc association.
This is one of the steps Toshiba needs to take to allow it to start producing Blu-ray disc players for consumers. As embarrassing as having to start making players with the format it once called inferior is, it would be interesting if the companies Blu-ray players become some of the more popular on the market.
