After today, we have a much better idea of what's on the horizon for Nokia over this next year. The Nokia Blog brings us a picture of a whole bunch of new Nokia smartphones and mobile handsets. There are several different devices here, including the new N97 mini, which looks to be Nokia's attempt to draw customer interest back to their smartphone line by cutting size and cost.
The N97 mini lacks a keyboard d-pad and is noticeably smaller than its older cousin. Boy Genius has identified one of the other phones in this picture. The phone to the right of the N97 and mini with the chrome bezel appears to be the 5900 XM. There's also a pair of sliders, white and black, that haven't yet been identified.
This mobile gallery looks like a snapshot of Nokia's Q3-4 mobile offerings. If so, I don't have very high hopes for their holiday season this year. While the N97 mini looks promising, nothing else here has much of a 'wow' factor. Considering any holiday offerings this year are going to be up against a slew of new Android phones, plus (maybe) Ericsson's exciting new Rachel, a 'wow' factor is something Nokia sorely needs.
