Sony just announced at the Gamescom 2009 that the new Sony PS3 Slim will be shipping in the first week of September.
The PS3 Slim has all features the currently available PS3 has but is smaller and lighter.
We are still waiting for official press photos of the PS3 Slim (Update: PS3 Slim Photos are here), but I assume that the new PS3 Slim will appear at retailers today for pre-order.
The PS3 Slim will sell for $299 in the United States and 299 Euros in Europe. All PS3 consoles have dropped in price.
