Amazon updated the release date on the Sony PS3 Slim and it will begin shipping tomorrow August 25th! Sony initially said the Sony PS3 Slim would ship September 1st. Amazon is now shipping the PS3 Slim a whole week earlier.
I also checked GameStop and they will also ship the PS3 Slim tomorrow. So it is Sony that decided to move up the release date of the Sony PS3 Slim by one week.
This is possibly the first time a new console has shipped earlier than announced. This is a great surprise for all those Sony fans that have already pre-orderd a Sony PS3 Slim.
Is Sony concerned about a Xbox 360 Price-cut? Microsoft is expected to slash the price of the Xbox 360 Elite to $299.99 to match the Sony PS3 Slim, but will this be enough? The new Sony PS3 Slim is offering more than just a slender price and size.
