T-Mobile is about to roll out with a brand new series of commercials featuring a cast of celebrities endorsing the myTouch 3G Android smartphone. Talk Android has a copy of the first of these commercials, which features Whoopi Goldberg, Phil Jackson, & Jesse James. More ads and purchase information for the smartphone ($199 w/2 year contract) can be found on the T-Mobile website here.
The main selling point in these ads appears to be the myriad of customization options available to users who pick the myTouch 3G (or any Android smartphone, really). I've got no doubts that a star-studded ad campaign will fetch a fortune for T-Mobile. But, if you're looking to grab a new Android smartphone, I'd hold off for a little bit.
The myTouch 3G is a fine phone, but Motorola is set to unveil two new Android smartphones in just a few week's time. In addition to that, this Fall should see the release of a bevy of other new Android handsets. If you can wait, October or November is probably going to be the best buying month. Everything should be out by then, as well as discounted for the holiday season.
