When used with USB interface the drives need now external power adapter. The Blu-ray version will play Blu-ray movies and can burn DVD and CD media. Compatibility is with Windows, Mac, and Linux OS'.
The user can choose between versions of both drives packed inside plastic housings or aluminum enclosures. Software for burning DVDs and watching movies is included with the drivers. The Blu-ray version starts at $235 and the DVD only version starts at $99.
