Yesterday, after showing off their new X-series of laptops, Samsung got to bragging about their plans for 2010. As it turns out, they've got something in development that will blow their X3 out of the water. According to Gizmodo, a Samsung spokesman confirmed that his company would be releasing an OLED laptop near the end of 2010, perhaps in Q3.
This means that, by this time next year, OLED notebooks will likely be out on the market. They'll be extremely expensive, there's no question of that, but probably less expensive than we're imagining right now. If Samsung's smart, they'll make an OLED screen an option for one of their top-shelf notebooks. That way users will be able to grab the normal version, or pay a few hundred extra for a sexy screen.
