Years ago Sneakers with Springs made you look like a crazy man. Just look at this photo of Spring Shoe we reported about in 2005. Today the Spira shoes and sneakers look like any other shoe. You cannot tell that inside springs return up to 96% of the energy from each stride that would otherwise be lost to the ground.
The downward force deflected and dispersed during each impact is recycled to the wearer as propulsive energy, further reducing the strain on the feet and reducing overall recovery time.
There are also hiking boots, slip on shoes and sandals with springs available.
The Spira Sneaker sells for $129.95 on the premier gadget shop Hammacher Schlemmer.
