Ericsson Xperia 2: Jan 11 Release, $1,010?

If you've been looking forward to a Sony Xperia 2 smartphone, you might want to reconsider your options. According to Boy Genius an online retailer has leaked the release date and price information for this new smartphone. While we initially expected the Xperia 2 to hit in Q4 of this year, it now appears that January 11, 2010 will be the release day. While a slight delay isn't too bad, the projected $1,010 price tag is a little, well...insane? It's bound to drop a bit before release, but even so I can't see how they can possibly market this phone at that kind of price point. It makes me shudder to imagine how much the X3 (aka, Android-loaded Rachel) will cost.
