China Unicom will be selling iPhones in China starting in October. The price for an iPhone 3G from the carrier will equate to about $732.59 or 5,000 Yuan. The device will be the main handset pushed with the company's new 3G service.

The price is expensive, but represents the unsubsidized cost of the device. The deal between Unicom and Apple will take the iPhone to the largest mobile phone market on the planet with about 700 million mobile phone users in China.

The day the iPhone launches on the carrier will also be the first day its 3G service is available. Unicom will be offering subsidies to users who sign up for mobile packages of 893 to 4,253 Yuan.
