The rumors about the Apple Tablet and the recent appearance of the cool Microsoft Courier prototype have put Tablet computers back into the center of attention.
If you were not there when Apple unveiled the Newton or Microsoft pushed the first Tablet PCs then read this nice article on the New York Times that takes us down the memory lane of failures.
Since I have been here all these years I am very skeptical about the promises of a Tablet Computer. Sure the Courier demo looks nice, but is this really around the corner? Do not get me wrong, I like touch interfaces, but a larger Tablet (giant iPod Touch) needs to offer more than my iPhone does now - not just a bigger screen with more resolution.
