Foxconn Rumored to be Building Apple Tablet

A new rumor has surfaced from DigiTimes that has Foxconn building that long rumored Apple tablet computer. The device is said to be hitting the market in the first quarter of 2010 with initial shipments in the 300,000 to 400,000 range.

DigiTimes cites sources close to the deal. The tablet is said to have a 10.1-inch display and panels could be sourced for Foxconn subsidiary Innolux Displays.

According to the source, the device will focus more on eBook functionality than music and key features of the device will be long battery life, internet connectivity, and an easy to use interface. The same source claims that HP and other companies will also offer similar products in Q2 2010.
