In light of their recent financial issues, Motorola made the wise decision to cut down to supporting just two platforms. One of these is obviously Google's Android operating system, and the other will be Windows Mobile 7. You'll notice I specified 7. That's because, according to Phonescoop.com, Motorola will not be supporting WinMo 6.5.
Considering the almost universal panning 6.5 has received from critics, this is fairly easy to understand. Motorola doesn't have the funds or the goodwill left to waste on a platform that isn't going to sell well for them. There's quite a lot of time left before 7 hits, however. I guess Moto will use it to keep pushing out more Android phones. If they keep hitting home runs like the Droid, that's definitely a good thing.
