Microsoft is not taking any chances with their Windows 7 roll out. They want it to be a hit, and they're enlisting some of the biggest names in animated entertainment to do it. According to CNET, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has been hired to advertise for Windows 7 in a special half-hour episode of his television show.
The special show will be titled, "Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show,". It will air on Sunday, November 8th at 8:30 P.M (ET & PT). Apparently there won't be any actual commercial breaks for Win 7, but product placement for the new OS will be sprinkled liberally throughout the episode.
While this idea seems a bit silly on the surface, it's at least a much better plan than those awful Windows 7 theme parties. At least with this we should get a mildly amusing half hour of comedy with some awkward jibes against Apple thrown into the mix. By Microsoft's standards, that's a vast improvement.
