Everyone knows that black is a way cooler color than white. When you've got a white gaming console, you're just another member of the herd. Blending in, keeping a low profile, playing by the rules and trying to stay straight and fly right. The Wii has a reputation for being a great kiddy and casual gamer console, but it still needs to be able to draw in the hardcore set.
That's why Nintendo is putting out a black Wiimote, and also why they're bringing an all-black Wii bundle to Europe (via Engadget). That's right, starting November 6th you folks in the UK and Ireland will be able to express your angst through a darkened console. On the 20th, the rest of Europe gets the opportunity.
So why is this awesome console coming to Europe, and not America? Simple. Europeans live most of the year shrouded in the fog and mist of their rainy continent. If the world were a bar, Europe would be the shady looking man with a broken sword sitting in a darkened corner. They've got the pained, burdened hearts necessary to handle something as badass as a black Wii.
At least that's the best reason I can think of for Nintendo confining this release to Europe. Maybe they've just decided they hate money?
