The day has come, Palm fans; the Palm Pixi is available for pre-order. If everything goes as planned, the Pixi will be on sale for Sprint customers on November 15 for just $99.99. That price point pits the Pixi against the iPhone 3G, the current king of the middle-range smartphone.
In terms of hardware, the Pixi gets you a lot of bang for your buck. It runs Palm's webOS platform, and has a 2.63" multitouch display. It launches with Push support for email, a GPS, a 2 MP digital camera, accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity sensors. The Pixi has 8GB of internal storage, and a 3.5 MM headphone jack.
If you're thinking of picking up a Pixi, let us know in the comments. Is Palm's latest smartphone going to come out on top of its category, or will it once again be buried under the iPhone in relative obscurity?
