The Phobos product line is composed of gaming and multimedia PCs brought to you by BFG
Technologies. This line of machines offers high functionality and has been
developed with features that will quench the gaming desire of any Graduated
Gamer. The developmental goal of Phobos is to deliver a gaming/home theater
system for those gamers and media enthusiasts who aspire for a high-performance
system, but cannot build or service one, which can be due to several reasons
like lack of time, skill or enthusiasm. Therefore, BFG Technologies provides a
complementary Concierge Service with Phobos, which will prevent any installation and maintenance strain.
Top-of-the-line components including the Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition
3.2GHz Processor, two upcoming BFG NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 Graphics Cards, and
CoolIt Contained Liquid Cooling Solutions have been used in the design of Phobos.
Such high-performance components help to keep both the GPUs and CPU in great
condition even when you are giving the system an intense test of its
capabilities. The fact that Phobos features Windows Vista Ultimate with Media
Center, four hard drive bays, RF remote and TV tuner with DVR
functionality, a front slot-loading Blu-ray Disc drive, the option for 5.1 or
7.1 surround sound audio cards, and a built in iPod/iPhone syncing dock enables
it to provide premier home theater entertainment.
The smooth and elegant case coupled with the concealed cable management gives
Phobos a stylish appearance. Its advanced touch panel LCD provides for a System
Status Overview, which is a live snapshot of the processor, storage, memory and
network data. Phobos operates in three modes- Auto, Quiet, and Max and according
to the selected mode of use, users can make live performance adjustments, assess
the working condition of internal storage devices and manipulate audio and video
files. The system also features Intel X25-E Extreme SLC SATA 64GB, Intel X25-M
Mainstream MLC SATA 80GB and Intel X25-M Mainstream MLC SATA 160GB SSDs.
Phobos has most things in place for a Graduated Gamer to feel satisfied. Its
high-performance components give gamers an unlimited number of gaming
possibilities. It promises to be a key player in the home theater entertainment
sector as well and the decision to include Windows Vista Ultimate with Media
Center in its system is definitely going to make Phobos a highly desirable home
theater entertainment system. But, people may be uncomfortable with its
relatively massive size and the prices of its three default configurations-
Phobos Performance (from $3,000), Phobos Advanced (from $5,000) and Phobos Elite
(from $8,000) can be too much for some consumers.
Great Gift For
People who want to try out a unique gaming system and those who are yearning
for something to impress the neighbors.
Price and Where to Buy
The prices of the three default configurations are: Phobos Performance (from
$3,000), Phobos Advanced (from $5,000) and Phobos Elite (from $8,000).
