The 2nd Android phone in the Verizon Wireless Droid series is called Eris and is still not official, but a lot about the lower cost Droid has been leaked already.
BGR received and posted several unboxing photos of the HTC Eris.
According to the "unboxer", the HTC Droid Eris is thinner, lighter and feels better than the HTC Hero. Update: Engadget now has an HTC Eris in hand also
Verizon Wireless will launch the HTC Droid this Friday, November 6th. The Motorola Droid is the new undisputed best Android phone. It is also the first to run Android 2.0.
