Today is a big day for Verizon Wireless and for Google's Android, the hottest Android smartphone is going on sale. You can already buy the Droid on the Verizon Wireless site for $199.99 with 2 year contract or $559.99 with month-to-month ($35 Line activation fee applies).
Verizon Wireless really went all out for the Droid. The Droid shopping pages even resemble the horizontal sliding screens of the Droid UI. It is actually fun to shop for the Droid and its available plans.
The lowest plan that offers unlimited data is offered at $79.99/m.
The Droid Eris is also on sale today. You can get that Hero competitor for $99.99 with a 2 year contract on the Verizon Wireless site.
