Yesterday we reported that Best Buy will be doing a nationwide midnight release for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on November 10th. Today, Gamestop has announced that they will also be doing a midnight opening for this latest CoD. In case you haven't heard, the first Modern Warfare was the bestselling FPS game in history (so far).
It's not hard to see why both Best Buy and Gamestop are excited. Modern Warfare 2 shows every sign of being a chart-topper. Unless Infinity Ward has seriously managed to muck things up with this one, it's going to be huge.
Gamestop's midnight release sounds like a much cooler event than Best Buy's. The launch will be the largest midnight opening in the company's history, and they've planned some big events to help celebrate that fact. When the doors open at 9:00 PM Monday night, eager gamers will have a chance to actually play Modern Warfare 2 several hours before its official release. There will also be a trivia contest and a “going camo” face-painting contest. If this sounds like your kind of shindig, check out the midnight release website here.
