The camera-sporting version of the iPod touch is easily one of the hottest gadgets that's never actually been released. We were all surprised earlier this Fall when, counter to everyone's expectations, the camera-laden touch never showed up at Apple's annual music event. Despite several spottings of the camera-touch, there's been no word from Apple on its existence.
Now, though, the rumors are starting to spread again (Electronista). A source for the Examiner has claimed that the new iPod touch w/camera will be launched this Spring. The source states that the product was originally due out on September, but was shelved due to quality control issues.
The new touch is rumored to carry the same camera as the new iPod nano. If there is any veracity to this rumor, we should start to hear some corroborative rumors over the next few days. Until then, keep your fingers crossed and your hope alive.
