The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 is the world’s lightest and
smallest system camera with built in flash. The standout property of
this compact camera is the lens interchangeability option. It makes use of the
high tech micro four thirds system wherein the camera uses the conventional
model sensors itself but allows the manufacture of slimmer cameras by removing
the mirror box and optical viewfinder. Hence the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 has a
compact, user friendly design and is much lighter than DSLR cameras.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 is an efficient gadget for professional photography and high definition videos. It sports a 12.1 mega pixel
sensor which provides elegant and crystal clear images with less work. The
various modes of photography allowed by the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 helps one to
redefine the art of still photography. The design and light weight are added
advantages for the professionals in this field. The camera hosts a 3.0 inch 60 fps
LCD which provides a friendly user environment.
The high image qualities are guaranteed by the use of a MOS sensor. The camera
consumes low power even under heavy and low lighting conditions. The iA mode helps beginners avoid the most common mistakes made
while capturing images. The other major features of the Panasonic DMC- GF1
include AF Tracking, Face Recognition, Intelligent Exposure, Intelligent ISO
Control, Intelligent Scene, MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) and Selector
Face Detection AF/AE. These features help to capture images with the highest
clarity and timing.
The camera will record high definition videos at a resolution of 720p [1280 x
720] and use AVCHD Lite compression technology to provide good quality videos. A
dedicated video button has been provided for the comfort of the user. The high
end Movie Program mode provides options for capturing custom videos by
selectively blurring the background and foreground, a feature that, until recently, was only offered
on high cost movie camcorders. The LUMIX DMC-GF1 includes the new My
Color mode, which hosts seven preset effects namely Expressive, Pure, Retro,
Elegant, Monochrome, Silhouette, dynamic art and Custom. Each of these modes let
users manually set the color, saturation levels and brightness.
The biggest problem that might be pointed out about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 is
that it is priced slightly higher than its counterparts and the
availability of the system is not guaranteed everywhere.
